Unhappy EAC doesn't detect cd-rom drives

After installation of EAC on WinXP Pro machine with Matshita CD-Rom CR-588 and LITE-ON LTR-12101B CD Rewriter, EAC wizard doesn't detect those drives. It only detects the virtual drives that are installed by Virtual CD as SCSI DVD-ROM drives.
    How can I solve this?
Is there another way (more direct) to detect drives, apart from through the wizard. Are there register-values I can change or add?

    Thank you,
    Henny

Make sure you have a correct working ASPI layer... Search his forum on how to obtain such a layer.

Unhappy install Aspi doesn't solve problem

I got ASPI drivers for XP from Adaptec and installed them.
    I uninstalled and reïnstalled EAC.
No difference, EAC only detects the virtual SCSI drives and no physical drive. What could I do more?

    Talking What else is loaded.

In particular - check to see if intels application accelerator is loaded. EAC will not see drives if this is loaded.

    Hot Try The Registry Entries

    Hi there,

I'd try to delete the registry settings of EAC, reinstall it and try again ... or change to native (Win2k/XP) read interface ... it is somewhat buggy but it will work if your drives get a drive letter assigned by the windows explorer (works fine with me) ... just try and find out.
