Thread: EAC not recognizing audio CDs in SAMSUNG 308B

Hello,

I downloaded the latest version of EAC and tried to install it on my laptop but whenever the "Wizard" asks me to insert an audio CD (and after I insert one) it says that the CD is not an audio CD. I tried it with a few CDs from my collection and it didn't work with any of them.

Drive is SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SN-308B

What am I doing wrong and is there anything I can do?

I am having the same problem with an LG CD-RW CED-8080B. I put an audio disc in the drive (I have tried several) and nothing shows up in the Track List window. At the bottom of the application window it says "No audio CD in drive". I am using a 1.5GHz Dell system with 512MB RAM and Windows 2000.

I love easy problems . The problem more than likely is your ASPI. just download the Nero aspi from here

ftp://ftp.nero.com/wnaspi32.dll

Put it inside your EAC directory (NOT inside your system folder).

Restart EAC.

Reselect External installed ASPI from EAC settings / Interface tab.

should work.


EDIT: I don't think my link is working... so if it doesn't workj for you, go to www.nero.com and search around for the ASPI layer download. I know its there somewhere...

Thank you Terminator! It worked beautifly! I just copied that file from Nero folder on my HDD to EAC one. Worked like a charm!
