Author's Note

Ultimate EAC Pack is an add-on pack and does not include Exact Audio Copy. You can obtain the program at http://www.exactaudiocopy.org/. Make sure EAC is installed first.

This pack is released in English. If you use a different language OS other than English, you might need to change some settings in Exact Audio Copy for it to work properly especially the encoding path for each audio compression profile.

It’s recommend that you use Exact Audio Copy v0.95 beta 4 (including / without CDRDAO package). This might work with older releases. Use with caution.

Older release of Ultimate EAC Pack needs to be removed prior to installing the newer one.

If you plan on removing Exact Audio Copy, make sure Ultimate EAC pack is removed first.

It’s safe practice to backup your profile and settings in case they need to be reverted back.

If you plan on running Exact Audio Copy under Windows Vista, make sure the account is set to administrator. If not, the program will behave strangely. Turning off User Account Controls (UAC) may fix some of the problem as well.

The default read offset is set to zero without AccurateRip being installed. But if AccurateRip is installed, this should have obtained information about your drive and automatically configured the read offset the minute you ran Exact Audio Copy (if a CD was inserted). The read offset will still be zero until you switch to EAC Preset Config (with AccurateRip) profile. If at a later time you decide not to use EAC Preset Config (with AccurateRip) profile, you can switch to EAC Preset Config profile. This will prevent the confidence report from appearing at the end when ripping a CD. This will also override the read offset back to zero even though it’s still showing the read offset AccurateRip configured under your settings. If you’re not sure what the read offset is, check your log file when you ripped your CD. To learn more about AccurateRip and how it works with Exact Audio Copy, head over to http://www.exactaudiocopy.org/eac16.html or read the AccurateRip help file (shortcut will only appear in the start menu if AccurateRip was selected during installation).

Secure mode is set as the default extraction method along with accurate stream and cache audio data feature on.

If you want to change the construction of filenames, you can use few of the suggested schemes (thanks Ubernet.net) by copying (in bold text) and pasting the code in the appropriate field under filename tab. You can come up with your own scheme if necessary.

NAMING SCHEMES

Artist - Album\Artist - Album - Track - Title = %D - %C\%D - %C - %N - %T
Artist - Year - Album\Artist - Album - Track - Title = %D - %Y - %C\%D - %C - %N - %T
Artist - (Year) - Album\Artist - Album - Track - Title = %D - (%Y) - %C\%D - %C - %N - %T
Artist - Album\Artist - Track - Title = %D - %C\%D - %N - %T
Artist - Year - Album\Artist - Track - Title = %D - %Y - %C\%D - %N - %T
Artist - (Year) - Album\Artist - Track - Title = %D - (%Y) - %C\%D - %N - %T
Artist - Album\Track - Title = %D - %C\%N - %T
Artist - Year - Album\Track - Title = %D - %Y - %C\%N - %T [DEFAULT]
Artist - (Year) - Album\Track - Title = %D - (%Y) - %C\%N - %T

NAMING SCHEMES FOR VARIOUS ARTISTS

Album\Album - Track - Artist - Title = %C\%C - %N - %A - %T
Album - Year\Album - Track - Artist - Title = %C - %Y\%C - %N - %A - %T
Album - (Year)\Album - Track - Artist - Title = %C - (%Y)\%C - %N - %A - %T
Album\Track - Artist - Title = %C\%N - %A - %T
Album - Year\Track - Artist - Title = %C - %Y\%N - %A - %T [DEFAULT]
Album - (Year)\Track - Artist Title = %C - (%Y)\%N - %A - %T

"LOSSY ENCODER" and "LOSSLESS ENCODER" profile acts as a placeholder. Do not apply these settings.

If you don’t plan on using Nero ASPI driver that was provided but still need an ASPI driver, you can grab Adaptec ASPI Driver for the following OS.

Adaptec ASPI Drivers 4.71.2 (Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP)
http://download.adaptec.com/software...aspi_471a2.exe

Adaptec ASPI Drivers 4.60 (Windows 95)
http://download.adaptec.com/software_pc/aspi/aspi32.exe

Common problems with CDs not being able to rip are usually the result of the CD being smudged with fingerprints and/or dust. Try wiping the CD with a lint free, dry cloth. If that doesn’t work, then your CD(s) might be damaged due to scratches. If that’s the case, try using a CD/DVD repair kit to remove the scratches. If all else fails and you still want to rip that particular track, you should turn off skip extraction on read or sync errors under extraction tab or switch extraction method to burst mode (this ignores problems with CDs). Take caution when using this method.

Feel free to change the adapter to the right drive if you’re experiencing problems detecting your CDs.

If Nero Digital Audio does not encode any audio, the encoding path needs to be changed. To do this, simply copy (in bold text) and paste the encoding path that applies to the corresponding OS that's in use. Keep in mind that “X” is the default drive letter. Do not copy the quote.

PROGRAM, INCLUDING PATH, USED FOR COMPRESSION:

Windows 2003/XP/Media Center Edition/Vista - "X:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe" [DEFAULT]

Windows 2000 - "X:\WINNT\system32\cmd.exe"

Windows 95/98/ME - "X:\WINDOWS\system\cmd.exe"

NOTE: You don’t need to change the additional command line options.

If you’re experiencing encoding problems while using Lame, try changing the genre field to something simpler. Lame doesn’t like long or oddball genre names.

Example: Alt. Rock/Indie to Rock

iTunesEncode requires iTunes 4.6 or above (latest recommended) in order to encode in Apple's Lossless Audio Codec or AAC MP4. The latest version can be obtained at http://www.apple.com/itunes/.

In order to change the bitrate when encoding with iTunesEncode AAC, you will need to change the bitrate through iTunes.

Remember, if none of the settings work, you can change the settings manually or use your own predefined settings.

All encoders including AccurateRip, Nero ASPI driver, iTunesEncode and Wapet are the properties of their respective owners.

Hello everyone, I thought I help out the community by releasing this pack to make EAC much easier to configure. I started this pack out in another forum. So I thought I post it here. This pack was originally inspired by a member here (don't know the name) who created their own pack but is no longer maintaining it. I'm pretty much picking up where this user left off. These are recommend settings I found scouring the Internet. Hopefully this pack will be useful to everyone.

This is probably going to be the last release of Ultimate EAC Pack for the time being. The kinks have been worked out and doesn't need any further updates as I see it. However, if you feel their is something that needs to be updated in this pack, feel free to leave a feedback. Enjoy.

The new version of Lame and FAAC was released not to long ago with the lastest build. Lame is now 3.97 beta3 and FAAC is now 1.25. The binaries for Lame is available. FAAC binary however is not available yet, only the source code. I'm debating weither I should include the new release of Lame and skip FAAC for Ultimate EAC Pack or should I wait till FAAC binary to be released so I can include both updated encoders?

At hydrogenaudio, they still recommend lame 3.97 beta2. But from what I've been reading there by some of the users, doesn't seem to affect the quality of the mp3 at all (which makes me believe the quality is the same as beta2). I'll probably include this eventually. For now, I'm going to give it about a week and see what other people think at hydrogenaudio and see if it becomes recommended. I'm just going to leave the pack as is.
