But then I cant understand that, as this option is already in EAC (compression options / ID3 tag)

Hello Andre
Maybe you could start with proper version numbers?
Like v1.00 etc.
Rather than 0.85b4 lol...
Thanks,
Scott

I still would like to see additions to the file name exchange options ... it would be great to have the possibility to apply user-defined character exchange ... e.g exchange "´" or "`" with "'" ...

I think most newbies would like to have a COPY CD icon, that would allow to copy from one drive to another (After creating an .wav and .cue on the hard drive of course).
or extracting first and then EAC would ask you to insert a blank CD, just like most programs.

Most people seem to believe going to WRI, then File/Load Cue Sheet (maybe adding a ICON for this),
CDR/Write CDR (maybe adding a ICON for this) is too many clicks.

Also if one wants to write always at 8x for example, the Write Speed screen could be eliminated (optionally).
That is, adding a Always Write at Nx speed option in settings and that way bypassing the Write Speed Screen.

Also writing to multiple drives at the same time would be useful for me.

Thanks for the great program.

First: Andre, thank you for EAC and this wish list!

My wishes:

1. The comment field working together with FLAC tags.

2. The comment field, instead of burried in the menu, near the CD title, CD Artist etc. fields.
This would make it easy to fill in album dependable data like record label and catalogus nr.
3. Correct Replaygain album_values in combination with FLAC.
Currently, if you add the replaygain switches to your FLAC command string the replaygain_album values will be wrong (that is the replaygain_track values are used).
I would't mind if the consequence would be to have all the wave files of the complete album temporary on hard disk (disks all are above 200 GB nowadays).

Cool

After reading the wishlist there's just one simple request left I have to ask.
I would like if the default filename for the Cue-file is something like artist - album (multiple wav files with gaps (non compliant)).cue

While it is true that both are "good" values, it is also true that FF is an undesired value when AccurateRip is installed. I'm bringing this up again because of another post to the board regarding this very same problem:

Excellent software, I use it a lot!
My little wish is a function for copying the selected tracks, merging them into a single file, compressed or uncompressed. An alternative could be an "auto-snap-to-track" mode in the "copy range" dialog.

Regards,
Steinar

The offset issue (display in the options, logs, locking of the fileds, etc) should be fixed in the following release...

You can already snap to tracks, just use the buttons below the slider (in copy range). The only thing not possible is to extract a non-continous range of tracks into one file...

which can be done quite easily by using a freeware wav editor like audacity ...

These are some of my feature wishes I was able to dig up again...
  • alternative way of saving the individual drive settings: don't identify the drives by their interface ID (i.e. adapter & id) but rather by the drives ID string (_NEC ND-9999, and so on). So the settings are tied to the actual drive and not to the interface slot they were placed in. I have some struggle when using an USB<->IDE adapter, it retains its device ID but when changing the optical drive connected through it, I have to adjust the drive settings each time.
  • reworked and more verbose log layout: http://www.digital-inn.de/exact-audi...og-layout.html
  • more buttons on the sidebar to the left -- maybe even customizable, you know, with one of those lists where you can add and remove all kinds of pre-defined buttons -- and also a way of hiding the sidebar completely.
  • a new column in the main track listing: ISRC
  • embedding of the cuesheet as a tag after compression of an image
  • support for more tag formats, and easy access to set the preferred tag format quickly

I have one wish for EAC: ability to rip and burn mixed mode single session discs, preferably in a single file format (something like cdrwin bincue, but with secure ripping and read/write offset correction). There's no ripper that can do all of this, furthermore there are no burners either.

I know it's a far cry from EACs original goal, but EAC is pretty much a "household name" for accurate audio ripping. The biggest problem at creating proper backups of many old console games using mixed mode data is the lack of secure audio ripping. It would be nice if EAC could be a remedy for this longstanding problem.

Having chosen WMA-Lossless as file format for my ripped CD collection I have 2 wishes regarding that format:

1.) It would be wonderful if EAC could support cue sheets with wma files natively in it's burning engine. Maybe it's possible without too much effort using the Windows Media Ecoder like it is done when ripping in that format.
2.) A small bug in "WME9.vbs" seems to prevent the track numbers from showing up correctly in most playing software. That can be fixed easily by replacing the lines 2316 and 2317 with the following:
objAttributes.Add "WM/TrackNumber", CStr(CInt(g_intTrackNo))
objAttributes.Add "WM/Track", CStr((CInt(g_intTrackNo)-1))

And I also don't want to forget to add my thanks for writing, improving and maintaining that nice peace of software!
