    PCM Wav Rip and Tag

Hi I have been searching on the net for HOURS to find a way to rip my cd’s to full-blown no compression wav files (I believe that would be PCM 44,100 16 bit) EAC application does this no problem, But I am also wanting the info that is gathered from the CDDB (artist and track name) to be written to the metadata in the file. I have seen several articles on this, but none that I can get to work. Can you help me out with a step by step? I am very new to EAC Thanks so much in advance!

    Brad

No, there is no "official" possibility to tag WAV files. Perhaps the program adds tags, but I am pretty sure that only that program can read them again. What help would that be?

The tags added by that program are also read by adobe audition and Simian. So it does serve a purpose. I am not saying that all applications can read the tags it puts in, but all the programs I used read them fine.

I also just found out that Windows Media Player rips files in wav format, get the info from the CDDB and writes the metadata (tag) in the wav file! Works perfect! and can be read by Adobe Audition and other programs I use.

    Hi Brad,

Why are you using uncompressed wave files? FLAC is a free, lossless encoder that can cut the size of your music collection to about half of what it is, without any loss of music data. Additionally, it fully support tags that most applications can read!
