Hello everybody!

I have fixed some bugs now and also changed how files are created/renamed/moved/deleted. This was necessary in order to allow filenames larger than 260 characters. Now it should work fine with more than 1000 characters (path and filename). But large changes were necessary in order to complete this task (much larger than I thought).
So if you are willing to help test the new version (and are an experienced user), please download the (exe only) version and replace the original exe. Do not use this version for productive use. It is necessary to test this version on various functions (extraction with and without compression, compression/decompression and all other file related functions), also in non ANSI code pages (e.g. japanese, russian, etc.) and storing on network drives.
If you encounter any problems, please send me a direct mail to eac [at] exactaudiocopy. de (without spaces and the real @ character).

So far I received no email regarding problems. That's great!
I will wait until wednesday, if there are no problems until then I will prepare an install and put it online (can't promise wednesday though)...

Further, I moved the main EAC page to a new server today! It should be faster and more reliable than the old web server. Basically you shouldn't have noticed the change, but if there are any problems, please let me know!! (Also if you get an error when sending me an email!). The old web server will still be in use until deactivation in february, but will not be updated anymore. So if you can not find any updates check whether you try to connect the new IP 88.198.13.12... e.g. use the command shell with the command

while in EAC none of the internet links on the help menu will connect to the respective web pages.

Where's the changelog?

Please start making good (verbose, bulleted) changelogs.. for normal/beta/whatever releases. I hate to say but just announcing that "some fixes" were made is stupid. People (well, not all but many) want to know what has been changed before upgrading software. Or before they engage in beta testing.

Sorry, I really appreciate your hard work, but I hope you'd improve with this. Thanks.

The change for the large filenames is done by using unicode strings (using a Multichar => Unicode conversion) and using the \\?\ path identifier...
This is the change I needed to have tested, I will try to note all other changes when the version is ready...
Anyway, some reports came in, so it will take some more days... (also yours Teller, which is a result of the changes I made, thanks for the info!)

OFF TOPIC:
What's wrong with the board system? My "Default Thread Subscription Mode" setting is set to "instant email" but by replaying to this thread, the board didn't subscibe it!? Is there a limit of subscribed threads or what's going on? (I've 9 subscriptions before posting this) EDIT: And after posting this reply, this thread was NOT subscribed.. something is clearly wrong. EDIT2: Thread was added to my list after selecting "Thread Tools -> subscribe". So there's no limit, it's the automatic subscribing that fails for some reason.

The CDRDAO and "Leave CD Open" problem has been fixed. I was able to write successfully a CD. Thanks Andre.
