tried two new drives, Pioneer 218D and LG GH, both gave very low extractions speed (below 1.5X) in secure mode.

tried every config i could think of. nothing worked.

the one process that did work was i started extraction in Burst mode, then stopped the process and quickly switched to Secure mode (while the drive was spinning fast) and got fast extraction speeds!

i know this is redundant but it does allow extractions at high speeds, until a better solution can be found.

try this and see if it works on your setup.

i'll keep at it...

EAC has an option to spin up drive before reading.
