Exclamation how to make EAC name a directory for ripping

I currently have to manually create the directory the wav files go to when ripping w/ EAC. Is there an option in EAC that will cause it to create a directory based on the artist and title of a CD?

Wait, hold on a sec, those are the directions to create track names. He was asking about the creation of folder names made upon extraction, without having to type in artist, title, etc. individually.

    Arrow Re: dir naming

Yea... those % variables only work in the naming area of the setup; they have no effect in the dir name.

SO.... Is there a way to do this or do we have to wait for the next release of EAC?

The directory selection in EAC is always only a "base" directory, from where files are stored or directories created.
So the %D\... must be used in the filename creation, the base directory doesn't matter...

I think you are misunderstanding, or perhaps I am.

So, if I am extracting Elton John's Greatest Hits, it would bew nice if EAC could automatically create a directory, via a file naming scheme, without any manual input, called Elton John (Greatest Hits) for the waves to be placed. However, the way EAC operates now you have to manually create a folder and name it, which can be time consuming if you have a lot of CDs to extract.

    Filename / Naming scheme

    %D (%C)\%N %T - %A

for example should work for you...
IF the CD artist is Elton John %D (and %A in this case) will be replaced by "Elton John" and if the CD title is Greatest Hits, %C is replaced by that, so you would get for this example :
Elton John (Greatest Hits)\01 Everything Works - Elton John

Ahh ok, so then the blackslash is the key. It works perfectly. Thanks.

This only works when extracting individual tracks, and not when creating an image and cue sheet, for obvious reasons.

Is there a way to create a naming scheme for directories when creating an image and cue sheet?
