    ripping copy protected CD

Are there settings, tricks in EAC, so that it functions, eg. key2audio protection from Sony, Zomba ?

    Or do I need a Plextor ?!

easy help, setting found for Plextor, Sony/Zomba protection

I have two drives, one Toshiba DVD drive, it reads normally Cds perfectly, it cashes no audio data and has correct handling of c2 error correction, so that it is fast enough for me.

So I use my Plextor writer normally only for burning.

But with this zomba CD I use Plextor for reading.

    The trick was:
Disable digital audio playing in settings of drive in system, device manager in windows XP eg., you will know what I suggest....
But this needs restart your PC to become active !

hmm have not tried this trick with the Toshiba, perhaps it helps with other drives than Plextor, too !

Do other people know tricks, settings in EAC or elsewhere to read out copy protedtetc Cds, eg. with other drives ot other protection methods, please report !

I did it with my LG ced-8120b burner with no problems at all. It ripped it perfectly. I didn't change any settings. My dvd drive on the other hand could not read the cd at all...

I copied and ripped 'Shakira - Landry Service, Sony, Key2Audio' with ******* and EAC. No additional tricks needed! (I did some research into copy-protections, can't imagine how disabling digital audio playing will help you copy a protected cd.)

Trick 1: if the cd is recognized, you should be able to rip it sectorbased (with Eac, Feurio, CDRWin) or copy it with *******.
Trick 2: buy a Plextor, it's the best for copying protected audio-cd's
Trick 3: use 'Generate Toc' from eac if the cd is recognized but doesn't display all the wav-files (corrupted toc)

Go to www.anti-riaa.com/news.htm and select the option at the bottom of the page on how to disable safe audio. I did it and it's easy!
