Question Trying to copy Celine Dion cd

Hi,

Please help me - I am trying to make a copy of the "new" Celine Dion cd.

When I try to use EAC v0.9 Beta 3 the program just crashes and gives me following error message:

at ASPI32.2209 => ASSING-RANGE

I have tried to download and instal a new ASPI driver, but it seems not to work!

What can I do?

Hot Celine Dion CD

Hi there,

if you talk about "A New Day Has Come" ... this CD is copy protected by Sony's Key2Audio ... better take a look at http://www.brennmeister.com

Most copy protections will mess up your system by using illegal TOC information ... and these protections are developped further and further day by day ... so perhaps this is your real problem.

Lightbulb NEW Celine Dione CD

I ripped it yesterday. I’m using the ECA v0.9 prebeta 9 from 14. february 2001.

1st I tried playing it with my cd-drive (A-Open 48x). That didn’t work, because of the protection. Then I placed it in my cdrw-drive (LiteOn LTR 12101B) and tried to copy the CD with EAC. In 10 min. I had al the songs on my hard disk. After that I burned it with NERO. Works perfect!!!

I read that the copy protection on that album, which won't let it play in CDRom drives, can be disabled by applying a sticker or a pen mark on the data surface of the disk (must be at a specific position, I think it was the mark on the disc that divides the audio from the data section). There are some posts across the Internet on this subject. Do a search on Google for it and I'm sure you'll find it.

Applying a sticker will sometimes help ... by preventing the drive from recognizing the data session ... I heard that, too but never tried since I luckily have all the hardware I need to copy any protected CD without loss of sound quality ...

Question

That's odd. I ripped the CD without a lick of trouble. I had no idea it was copy protected.

27 drives tries to read "A new day has come" : 18 fails, 9 succeeds.

Hot *lol* Sony reads key2audio ...

to me it seems to be strange that a Sony DDU1621 is able to rip a protected (key2audio) CD from "Sony Music" ... ;-)
